Degree: BA Health and Human Physiology (Health Studies)
Year: December 2019
I graduated in December 2019, and I am currently under the nursing program at Ivy Tech, Indiana to become a Registered Nurse. After that, I am planning to apply to the Nursing Master Program. All the courses and experiences I've had definitely helped me to achieve my goals. The HHP curriculum included several great courses that built up a strong fundamental knowledge base, such as Human Anatomy and Health Services. There were no courses that I felt like was wasting my time or effort.
My favorite courses in my degree program were Understanding Human Disease, Policy, Environmental, and Social Determinants of Health, and Health Services. I personally loved higher number courses since they focused more specifically on things we encounter in the field. Learning basic and general information is fun but I preferred the courses that put you in the situations that we will encounter in the field.
My advice to current students, “You do need to put enough effort into succeeding in your school life. Don't hesitate to contact your instructors when you have questions. They will always welcome you and happily help you to find answers. Start your assignments as early as you can, so that you don't need to rush yourself to make it on time. The more time and effort you put in, the better results, and that will make you feel happy!”
