The Health and Physical Activity Skills Program promotes participation in physical activity through a variety of fitness and sport activities.  In addition, some courses in the HPAS program seek to help students adopt or develop healthy habits and behaviors.

Our courses are designed to ensure that students achieve basic skills and understand the health and performance benefits of physical activity and wellness practices.  The courses address personal health risks, examine various structural factors that constrain good health practices, and teach specific skills for enhancing health and well-being.

Coursework includes active participation, readings, assignments and examinations.  Courses meet for approximately 3 hours per week for a 6-8-week session and carry 1 semester hour of credit.  Courses are graded S/F only (undergraduates) or S/U only (graduate students; no degree credit).

Please consult MyUI for a complete description and schedule of our courses.
