A Poster Session is a graphic presentation of an author's research. Authors illustrate their findings by displaying graphs, photos, diagrams and a small amount of text on the poster boards. 

HHP Showcase Poster Session is held Friday, May 3, 2024, 2:45 - 4:00 pm in the UI Black Box Theater, IMU room number 360.  This event immediately follows HHP Showcase Speaker Session. 

All posters should Authors should be available to hold discussions with attendees who are circulating among the poster boards for the entirety of the poster session.

2023 Showcase Poster Session

Poster Registration and Review Period

  • Submission period begins March 27, 2024 and ends 11:59 PM, April 15, 2024.
  • During this period, authors may submit abstract poster proposals for consideration to the Poster Peer Review Committee. 

Registration Information

  • REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN.  Poster registration closes Monday, April 15, 11:59pm.
  • PRESENTERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR PRINTING OF ALL MATERIALS.  Please see the "Poster Printing Resources" for additional information. 
  • Poster session is one and a half hours long. During the session presenter should plan to remain by your poster board and share your research with other attendees. 2:30-4:00 pm Friday 5/3
  • Posters should be set up 30 minutes before the start of the session. 1:30 pm Friday 5/3
  • Presentations should be taken down within 30 minutes after the session ends. Display materials not removed following the conclusion of the session will be discarded. 4:00-4:30 pm Friday 5/3
  • No audiovisual equipment is permitted for poster presentations.
  • Presentation boards and board magnets will be available on-site for mounting the displays.

Poster Development Tips

  • Presenters are responsible for printing, display, and removal of all materials.  Contact your advisor or Principal Investigator if funding is available. 
  • Posters must fit on mounted boards that are 3 feet tall by 6 feet wide.
  • Keep accessibility in mind when designing your poster. Checkout the U.S. National Science Foundation's poster session information page.
  • The material should be well labeled and legible from a distance of 10 to 15 feet away. Lettering should be bold. Use a large sans serif font such as Veranda.
  • Consider the Better Research Poster design for an easy-to-digest poster design.
